The Bahamas has ended up being somewhat of a good luck charm for David Loring.
The Charleston, South Carolina native won his third Sunfish World Championships in Nassau Friday with a net total of 28.6 points.
He got his first championship title in 1995 in Abaco, the last time the event was held in The Bahamas.

After a day long delay due to strong winds, competitors took to the water once again in Montagu Bay to resume action in the 2009 Sunfish World Championships.
David Loring of the United States was strengthened his first place advantage with a productive outing which included a second and fourth place finish.
Loring overcame a 20% penalty in race seven, which dropped him to a fifteenth place finish, however still leads the field with 21.6 net points. (more...) Read More...
